Vision and Mission
Vision and Mission

The vision and mission of SFEE are encompassed in the formation and support of cogent and well-documented positions that contribute decisively to the enhancement of public health.
The rigorous formulation, the scientific documentation, and the promotion of SFEE’s positions are undergoing a substantial positive development to contribute decisively in the establishment of high-standard medical care, equivalent to the care from which developed European countries benefit.
The positions and initiatives of SFEE stem from its authoritative and contemporary vision, a dynamic vision that focuses on the maximization of citizen benefits that derive from the extraordinary progress in the research and development of new medicines.
SFEE’s vision and mission are elaborated in five key positions:
Apart from the predominant ethical dimension associated with the social good known as “health,” it is an indisputable fact that the promotion of public health represents an economic benefit to society and the State far greater than the cost of new medicines and treatments. As a consequence, the cost of medicines constitutes an investment, rather than expenditure, in the health of citizens.
Pharmaceutical companies in Greece and around the world play a key role and contribute unequivocally to the achievement of a high standard of public health and in establishing conditions for social and economic progress. With a high sense of responsibility toward Greek society, SFEE promotes policies that serve and promote the common interest of citizens, the State, and pharmaceutical companies.
Internationally, pharmaceutical companies represent one of the most dynamic, and at the same time, most sensitive sectors of the global economy. New medicines and life-saving therapies are discovered and developed in the laboratories of pharmaceutical companies around the world. The pharmaceutical industry works diligently to safeguard the continuation and expansion of today’s pharmaceutical revolution and to strengthen man’s defences against disease.
