The discussion centered on real examples of investments, corporate initiatives, research applications, and startup entrepreneurship, demonstrating how partnerships among industry, startups, spin-offs, universities, and investors can transform scientific knowledge into practical solutions for patients, the healthcare system, and the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The roundtable took place in the form of an open discussion (fireside chat), with the participation of representatives from SFEE member companies leading investments and innovation initiatives, as well as representatives from startups, university spin-offs, and investment organizations. Participants exchanged experiences and best practices, identified the key barriers faced by innovative solutions on the path from research to market, and discussed ways to strengthen technology transfer, business maturation, and access to funding.<\/p>\n<p>Particular emphasis was placed on the role of the pharmaceutical industry as a catalyst for the development of a more outward-looking and collaborative healthcare innovation ecosystem. As highlighted during the discussion, the pharmaceutical industry is not only a key pillar of the economy and employment, but also a critical partner in leveraging research outcomes, supporting emerging technological solutions, and accelerating patient access to innovative therapies and services.<\/p>\n<p>Within the context of the discussion, participants underlined the need for more systematic mechanisms of collaboration between industry and the research community, stronger support for university spin-offs, simplification of procedures related to the commercial exploitation of research, as well as the creation of more structured pathways connecting Greek startups with the pharmaceutical industry and investors.<\/p>\n<p>The second roundtable contributes to the content of the initiative\u2019s forthcoming <strong>White Paper<\/strong>, which will compile key findings, best practices, and proposals for strengthening innovation in Healthcare. The White Paper will serve as a tool for institutional dialogue and as a foundation for the initiative\u2019s next steps, culminating in a dynamic presence at the international <strong>BEYOND 2026<\/strong> exhibition (June 17\u201319, 2026, Metropolitan Expo), through the creation of a modern \u201cinnovation hive\u201d that will function as a hub for collaboration, networking, and showcasing innovative initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Through \u201cInnovation Meets Industry,\u201d SFEE aims to serve as a platform for collaboration, extroversion, and the acceleration of innovation, connecting the pharmaceutical industry with startups, research centers, universities, investors, and institutional stakeholders. The objective is to establish a stable framework for dialogue and joint initiatives that will help transform innovation into applied solutions with meaningful benefits for patients and the
