Mr. Georgakopoulos is joining a dynamic group that promotes the pharmaceutical industry\u2019s positions in the best interests of patients.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Georgakopoulos has more than 20 years of academic and industry experience, having served as assistant professor at the University of Portsmouth and in several senior management positions at international companies (Leo Pharma, Schering-Plow, Actelion, Abbott Laboratories), with responsibilities in stakeholder engagement, participation in healthcare policy design, clinical trial design, as well as design and implementation of pricing, reimbursement and market access strategies and policies.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Portsmouth and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the same University. He speaks English and German.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Mr. Mihalis Himonas, General Manager of SfEE, stated: <em>\u201cWe welcome Christos to SfEE\u2019s family, in a very difficult and demanding time for the industry, which constantly strives to ensure a better and sustainable health system that delivers high-quality services to patients, as well as unhindered patient access to the new treatments they need.
