Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas
Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas was founded in 1966.
In 1975, a 7.800 m2 production Plant was built in the area of Koropi, setting new standards in the country’s industrial sector. The plant was awarded the 1st Prize of the Ministry of Culture for harmonious adaptation of industrial facilities to the natural environment.
Being the only multinational pharmaceutical company with manufacturing facilities in Greece, Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas has become a strong player in the Greek industry, not only as a result of the provision of pharmaceuticals to the domestic market, but also due to its exports activity.
The company’s plant produces pharmaceuticals for export to over 45 countries of Eastern Europe, the Balkan, Asia, Northern Africa and the Middle East, and income from exports represents 53% of the company’s total turnover.
The company’s export activity is of great significance as it represents 1% of the total exports income of Greece!
Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas has a work force of 390 employees and relies on a modern and efficient company structure. The company’s personnel include top scientists and professionals with the necessary credentials and experience to implement the company’s target and promote its vision.
With a turnover of 267 million Euros in 2009, Boehringer Ingelheim Ellas is currently ranking 10th in the Greek pharmaceutical market in terms of sales with 2,7% market share.
