Oncology care in Greece: Shared priorities between the medical community and the innovative pharmaceutical industry

Press Release

Athens, 5 November 2026.- Access to new oncology treatments, medicine reimbursement procedures, the need to strengthen diagnostics and clinical research, and funding challenges were the key topics discussed at a roundtable entitled “Oncology Care in Greece: Access, Innovation, Sustainability”, jointly organised by the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE) and the Delphi Economic Forum’s Center for the Future of Health.

The roundtable, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at a central Athens hotel under the Chatham House Rule, brought together distinguished representatives of oncology scientific societies and senior executives from SFEE member companies. Participants presented evidence, highlighted challenges, and put forward proposals to improve oncology care in Greece, emphasising the value of therapeutic innovation and its benefits for long-term patient care.

The discussion aimed to identify shared policy priorities and strengthen collaboration between the pharmaceutical industry and the medical community for the benefit of patients.

The key conclusions of the discussion are expected to be presented in a policy paper to be published by the Delphi Economic Forum’s Center for the Future of Health in the coming period.
