SFEE at BEYOND 2026 through the “Innovation Meets Industry” initiative: Three Panels on the Future of Innovation in Healthcare

Athens, 19 June 2026 – The Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), in collaboration with Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC), participated in BEYOND 2026, the international exhibition of technology and innovation taking place from 17 to 19 June at the Metropolitan Expo. As part of the Innovation Meets Industry initiative, SFEE organized three consecutive panel discussions dedicated to innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.
The discussions focused on key topics at the intersection of the pharmaceutical industry, research, startups, investors, and technology, ranging from biotechnology financing and the transfer of scientific knowledge from the laboratory to the marketplace, to the use of health data and Artificial Intelligence.
Panel 1 | «Investing in Health Innovation: Capital, Risk and the Greek Biotech Opportunity»
The discussion explored investment trends in biotechnology and the prerequisites for building a dynamic biotech ecosystem in Greece. Participants: Ol. Papadimitriou (President of SFEE / General Manager of Novo Nordisk), G. Nounesis (President of ESETEK), I. Alafakis (CEO & Co-Founder, maMEDS), D. Iakovidis (Partner, Metavallon VC) and S. Stavridis (Metabusiness / La French Tech Athens).
Panel 2 | «Greece as a Bioinnovation Hub: From Lab to Market»
The transition from research to market and the value of collaborations among research institutions, spin-off companies, and pharmaceutical enterprises were at the heart of the discussion. Participants: V. Kontozamanis (former Deputy Minister of Health), Sp. Filiotis (Vice President of SFEE, Vice President and General Manager of Pharmaserve-Lilly), G. Skretas (Institute for Bioinnovation / ResQ Biotech) and S. Mavrikou (CEO Ce.B.Tec / Agricultural University of Athens).
Panel 3 | «The Data Prescription: Health Data, AI and the Future of Precision Medicine in Greece»
The panel examined how health data and Artificial Intelligence are already shaping personalized models of care and driving new approaches to healthcare delivery. Participants: Dr. A. Angelis (General Secretary of Strategic Planning, Ministry of Health), K. Papagiannis (Secretary General of SFEE, Country President & Managing Director Novartis Greece, Cyprus, Malta), I. Karagiannis (Chairman of the Board of Directors of I.D.Y.K.A.), A. Kakasis (CEO, AINIGMA Technologies) and A. Jakoncic (Vice President of SFEE, President of MSD Greece, Cyprus and Malta).
The panel discussions were moderated by Giorgos Sakkas, journalist with the newspaper TO VIMA.
SFEE’s participation in BEYOND 2026 reinforces the Association’s role as an institutional catalyst for healthcare innovation and highlights Greece’s potential to evolve into an emerging hub for bioinnovation and health technology.
