Focusing on areas of significant medical needs, Gilead Sciences seeks to expand access to education and treatment in developing countries, by supporting special programs aimed at achieving this goal. Moreover, it reinvests a portion of its profits in the discovery of new therapeutics against life-threatening diseases, such as HIV/ AIDS, Chronic Hepatitis, and more recently severe cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.

The company entered the Greek market in 2001 with innovative medicines to treat HIV/ AIDS, Hepatitis B and invasive systemic fungal infections. Today, Gilead Sciences Hellas employs 36 people primarily focusing on providing scientific information and supporting the promotion of public health. Within this scope, the company provides significant support for initiatives and activities related to HIV and Hepatitis B prevention, as well as for the early diagnosis and treatment of patients.
